France: Auvers-sur-Oise (1 day)

A small rural village close to Paris, place where Vincent Van Gogh lived his last weeks painting as never, Auver-sur-Oise fields, city view and church were painted in some of his famous works. The house where he used to live is now open for visit. It's possible to imagine how the artist lived his days on the place.
Other two important places that must be visited in the city is the Château d'Auvers and the Absinthe Museum.

  • Vincent Van Gogh place: Auberge Ravoux, 52 rue du Général-de-Gaulle;
  • Château d'Auvers: rue de Léri;
  • Absinthe Museum: 44 rue Callé;




Tip: The same place Van Gogh lived was home of other artists before him. Camille Pissarro, Paul Cézanne e Charles-François Daubigny. You can visit Doubigny's studio at rue Daubigny 61 and Doubigny's museum.
Tip2: Can go by train from Gare du Nord in Paris.

Getting there from Paris:

Transportation: Take the RER C toward Pontoise. Disembark at St-Ouens L’Aumone (approx. 1hr.). Switch to the Persan Beaumont Creil line (walk downstairs and change to opposite platform; consult screen for departures) and get off at Gare d’Auvers-sur-Oise (approx. 15min.). (Information from letsgo)
